PROVIDE BUILDING ENCLOSURE

Contracted to provide Building Enclosure Commissioning for the Commissioning Agent. Performed in-depth reviews to help provide a complete set of design documents and detailed drawings. The new roof has a shingle system installed on a slope at all commissioned roof areas. The stationary and operable windows were commissioned as well to ensure quality workmanship during the construction process.

Performed periodic site visits to ensure the construction process was progressing as planned. Water testing was also observed during construction to ensure water-tightness and conformance to design criteria and specifications. By working closely with both the contractor and the designer installation defects at some of the complex interfaces were identified and corrected while the contractor was still on-site. Continued in duties by following up on a meticulous action items list until the work was complete and all parties could be satisfied that the newly installed building enclosure system would perform throughout the entirety of its service life and most likely, well beyond.

  • Provide design review through-out all phases (Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documents) of design
  • Provide the project’s building enclosure commissioning specifications during the design phase including laboratory and field testing procedures for building enclosure systems
  • Perform field monitoring and conduct performance verification testing of building enclosure systems during the construction phase of the project
  • Review Operations & Maintenance Manuals for building enclosure systems
  • Assist in verification that certain building enclosure systems, including glazing, roofing, meet LEED Gold Certification standards, e.g. roofs shall meet minimum Solar Reflectance Index requirements of LEED NC SS Credit 7.2: Heat Island Effect: Roof. In addition, provide Building Enclosure Commissioning as part of enhanced commissioning credit.
We will follow up quickly with a request for information and a formal proposal.
