Provided the Building Enclosure Commissioning Agent
for the new Raleigh Union Station Building in downtown
Raleigh. The 33,200 sq. ft. building will be three stories
and contain ticking and waiting areas, offices, and lease
space. The building enclosure includes all exterior
systems separating the interior environment from the
exterior and will primarily consist of curtain wall and
metal wall panel exterior cladding systems, membrane
roof systems and below-grade waterproofing systems.
With a budget of $70 million, the project will be designed
to meet LEED Silver Certification standards.
Responsible for commissioning the building’s enclosure
throughout the design, construction & acceptance
phases of the project.

  • Provide design review through-out most phases (Design Development and Construction Documents) of design
  • Develop and maintain the building enclosure commissioning plan.
  • Provide the project’s building enclosure commissioning specifications during the design phase including laboratory and field testing procedures for building enclosure systems
  • Perform field monitoring and conduct performance verification testing of building enclosure systems during the construction phase of the project
  • Review Operations & Maintenance Manuals for building enclosure systems
  • Assist in verification that certain building enclosure systems, including glazing, roofing, meet LEED NC Silver Certification standards, e.g. roofs shall meet minimum Solar Reflectance Index requirements of LEED NC SS Credit 7.2: Heat Island Effect: Roof. In addition, provide Building Enclosure Commissioning as part of enhanced commissioning credit.
